You should consider getting a drawing tablet to use on your computer. It can be just like using oil paint, but with a pen! And no mess.

I went to plug it into my car with a new adapter thing, and it went zap, sizzle, smoke, nothingness.

In that order.

But then I went out and I bought a newer, prettier one. It is green and I named it Kermit. End of this story.

I notice that Adrene has posted only a single deviation, while you've posted 23. There's an Arabic proverb that comes to mind, "The dogs bark while the caravan passes." It may be a matter of opinion ,but the way Adrene states it makes it seem as if only his/her opinion matters and as if the artist is doing something strikingly wrong.
As all mature people, We all know that deviantart.com is here purposely for criticism ,but I do not believe Adrene should have said, "put it use, hm?"
Anyways, you already know you shouldn't change your purpose of art for someone else. That would be silly. lol.
